**As of March 1, 2017 I am not available for any new book reviews. I have gotten very behind in reviews and in my own writing. If everything works out, I should be back open by July. If you are an author I have worked with in the past contact me directly and we can chat. If I have already said yes to do a review, I will be getting to everyone by the end of March. Thank you. ***

I love books. I love to read. I love to support authors. Most of the reviews I do on this blog are from books that I have bought and fell in love with. However, I am a member of NetGalley and I receive free copies of books in exchange for honest reviews. When I receive a book from them, I will let you, the reader, know. I am open to authors asking for a review of their book in exchange for a free copy. When that happens, I will let you, the reader, know. In the cases of receiving free books, I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

I also beta- read books. First of all, I would not waste my time doing a beta- read for a book I didn’t already know I was going to enjoy. So of course, those reviews will be good. Again, I will let you, the reader, know that.

In my free time, I do some PAA (personal author assistant) work. Yes, I am biased when I read those books because I am being paid. However, I only work with author’s whose work I enjoy so I can support them. I will not review their books, but I will mention them.

REQUESTING A BOOK REVIEW:

My preference is urban fantasy without a ton of graphic violence and sex. However, I enjoy reading all kinds of books so I am open to reading just about anything. Just ask. I will try to get back to you in 2-3 days if I am interested in your book or not.  Once I have accepted a request, I will let you know how long you can expect before I post a review. I only want .mobi files, please.

If I review your book and I can’t finish it, I do not want to slam you. I try very hard to find good things about the book, but if I can’t I will let you know. I do not like rating systems so I don’t use one. My review will include what I like about the book and what the book is about. There are good books, that I like, and then there are GOOD books, that I love. I will give my opinion accordingly.

I post multiple times on Facebook and Twitter. I post on Goodreads and Amazon. If you are working on building up your social media in a different avenue, let me know and I will try to post other places.

If I really enjoyed your book, I would love to do an interview with you as well. I have two types of interviews, one is a short five-question featurette #carolinareads. The other will be a longer spotlight with no more than 10 questions. Starting in fall, 2016, I am looking for guest bloggers. Your blog post will need to be centered on your love of reading, how books and reading molded your life, creating new readers, and promoting a love of reading, or how books can save the world.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me and lets talk.

**Added on October 7, 2016- Amazon does not consider books borrowed through Kindle Unlimited as “verified purchases”. Therefore I will not count that either and if I borrow a book I will mention that in the review. (If any Amazon people ever read this page- I disagree with this policy and think it should be changed. Ultimately, books I borrow are paid for with my memebership fee.)
